2018 RANGE ROVER EVOQUE
If you need a tough SUV that can get you through the Cleveland area winters or take you off-road in the Parma and Garfield Height areas, the Range Rover Evoque may be what you’re looking for. To give our customers a better idea of what they can expect to find when they slide into the driver’s seat of this SUV, Land Rover Westside created this 2018 Range Rover Evoque review.
2018 Range Rover Evoque Mechanical Specs
The Range Rover Evoque gives drivers the choice between two Ingenium 2.0L turbocharged gas engines. The first engine generates 237 horsepower and 251 lb-ft of torque. If you want a bit more from your engine, opt for the 286-horsepower engine that produces 295 lb-ft of torque.
Both engines are paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission that offers smooth and optimized shifting, and a part-time 4-wheel drive (4WD) drivetrain for maximized traction control and improved efficiency.
Range Rover Evoque Handling Capabilities
Whether you’re hitting the road or hitting the trail, chances are you’re looking for some impressive handling abilities from your SUV, and the Range Rover Evoque does notdisappoint here.
It comes standard with the Terrain Response® system, which improves wheel articulation by adapting to your conditions to enhance drivability and traction. Drivers can choose between four standard settings:
- Mud & Ruts
There’s also an available fifth option called Adaptive Dynamics that tunes the suspension for tighter body control and sharper responses.
During inclement weather or other low-traction conditions, drivers can make use of the standard All Terrain Progress Control (ATPC) system. This system acts as a kind of low-speed cruise control. You set a desired speed between 1 and 18 MPH, then focus your attention on steering and navigation while your 2018 Evoque works to maintain traction and speed.
In addition to its smart handling capabilities, the Range Rover Evoque includes several driver-assist features that can help you stay aware of your surroundings and focus on your driving.
One that stood out was available Lane Keep Assist with Autonomous Emergency Braking and Driver Condition Monitor. This system does many things. First, if it detects that you’re unintentionally veering from your intended lane of travel, this system will automatically steer you back in line.
If the Driver Condition Monitor senses that you’re starting to feel drowsy behind the wheel, it’ll issue a warning that you may need a break. During that break, why not activate the available massaging front seats, with five available settings for ultimate relaxation?
Autonomous Emergency Braking kicks in if it anticipates a potential collision, stopping or slowing down your vehicle to prevent or lessen an impact.
A Head-Up Display is also available. This display projects important information onto the lower part of your windshield, so you can keep a close watch on your vehicle’s diagnostics, navigation, incoming messages, music, driver-assist features, speed limits, and more, without having to take your eyes off the road.
