Engine Specifications: Horsepower, Torque, Towing Capacity
There are three different engine options to choose from in the Range Rover Sport. Each offers fun-to-drive performance and long-term durability, but they also have unique traits that add a distinct flavor to your ride.
First up is the 3.0L Diesel engine with the ability to produce 254 horsepower, 443 lb-ft of torque, and a maximum towing capacity of 7,716 pounds. Next, we have the 3.0L V6, which can churn out 340 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque. The V6 also maintains the same maximum towing capacity as the diesel engine.
Now, we come to the explosive 5.0L V8. This monstrous engine can generate a whopping 575 horsepower to go along with 516 lb-ft of torque. As for towing capacity, it tops out at 6,613 pounds.
There is loads of worthwhile technology scattered throughout the cabin of the Range Rover Sport. Not only will this enhanced infotainment keep you entertained behind the wheel, it will also keep the kids occupied.
If you’re looking for rear seat entertainment, you’ll find two 8-inch screens built into the rear of the front headrests. You can also opt for 10-inch high-definition seat-mounted articulating touchscreens.
Another helpful feature is the InControl® system, which presents a range of apps on your touchscreen display, including media-streaming capabilities and location-based services, like a GPS.
Finally, the Meridian™ sound system will flood your SUV with crystal-clear noise thanks to its 11 refined speakers.
Designed with Safety in Mind
To help keep you and your passengers safe, the Range Rover Sport comes with plenty of advanced protection features.
For example, Lane Departure Warning will sense when your vehicle is drifting from its respective lane before sending you a visual warning and steering wheel vibrations.
There’s also Emergency Braking. This system is designed to detect front-facing collisions. If it senses a collision is likely, you’ll be audibly alerted. If you fail to react in an appropriate amount of time, the system will apply the brakes automatically in an effort to reduce the impact.
Additional safety technology includes Front and Rear Parking Aid as well as Cruise Control with Speed Limiter.
